Life – it is something I have been pondering about a lot
lately. Wondering why I am here, what is my purpose, am I really helping
others--am I making a difference. As I ponder, as I wonder, Heavenly
Father gives me little glimpse, little reminders he is there for me, and
even though I may not see it, he has a plan.
In the fall of 2013 Mandy and I went mountain biking in
Omaha on a trail I had read about online. It was a beautiful afternoon weekday.
The trail was empty, it was just me and Mandy, and riding was great. After we
finished riding, I racked our bikes, and we proceeded to leave, but the
car would not start. I checked the engine, tried a couple of more times to get it to start, and
nothing. I was nervous, I did not know anyone, I did not know exactly where we
were, and I was not sure how we were going to get home.
Mandy and I said a prayer, and I asked Heavenly Father to
help us get the car started and get us safely home. As soon as we finished the
prayer. A truck drove up, and parked right by us. The driver helped jumped my
car, and it started! While helping us I learned the driver normally rode in the
morning, but decided to ride later on that particular day. Heavenly Father had
made sure Mandy and I were taken care, and he answered our prayers.
It’s little reminders like these that help me get through the
days, and although it is not easy, it let’s me know God has a plan, he is there for me–God has got my
back, and I just need to hang on.
